Formosa residence located at Brisbane's sort after acreage suburb Gumdale, is refurbishment to an existing high set cottage building.

On inspection the existing building was disconnected from the natural ground level.

The design exercise was to anchor the residence extension to the ground plane which created increased ceiling heights a voids to the extended living / kitchen space.

The master bedroom was connected to the living space via feature timber casement doors.

The remaining 'L' shaped extension connected an existing high set bungalow structure on the property to the main residence. The renovation creating a secluded court yard space where the existing building and new building structures wrapped around the courtyard creating a protected outdoor enclosure from the remaining property.

Morriarchi Architecture has been recently commissioned to design further renovations at Formosa residence.

Morriarchi Architecture looks forward to show casing stage two of Formosa residence when completed.
